16 Sep. 2008

Today was i nice day, except the weather. At first Phil told us about Lights,Frames, Rule of thirds, Look space and Nose room, critical areas and so on. Then he gave us a complete script for what we have to shoot. We split into two groups, i was in a group with Damla, Julia and Natella, we went outside and started shooting the film. That was a lot of fun )))) I think we've done pretty well, but still we need more experience before we shoot something really big. We spent about 2 hours for a movie only 2 minutes long, i wouldn't say i didnt expect that to be that long but i guess in real movies it takes much longer time to shoot those 2 minutes including preparation and etc. etc.
From today's lesson i learned how to place the camera, how to combine elements that were shot allready with those that we had to shoot, so called "timing", we learned how to use those frames that Phil was talking about at the begining of the lesson, i guess that was the main goal for today and not less important we learned how to comunicate with each other during filming and to come up with ideas together that actually makes the movie look good.
I simply loved today's class and i'm looking forward to the next one )).....

9 Sept. 2008

Today was our first day having Video Production Class. When i was thinking about whats it gonna be, i thought "Oh Jeee, we gonna be wasting our times on those granny computers that we are all used to in IBS" and when i steped into the class i said: "Wooow, am i dreaming?". It was a small room but absolutely fully equiped with brand new equipment, you could actually smell it, it had 6 high-performance computers on the desks, with large, i suppose about 20" widescreen monitors, new projector tinted windows and 2 air-conditioners, further more there was nice wardrobe out there wich had brand new cameras, tripods and the most exciting individual 500Gb portable hard drives inside. WooooW!!!! I LoVe this class allready! It seems like everything is really prepared for CRAAAZY work out there. Dr.Phil talked about all the equipment and warned us that cameras can be droped only once, that was a surprise for me :D, he showed everything to us and then he let us go outside to the garden to try the cameras and just get used to them, feel them. We also took tripods with us and these are pretty good i should say, cause i'm having one at home, the only advantage of it is that it has a zoom and rec. buttons on the handle, but its quite havy or its just because i was carrying it a long time ago!? :) Then we came back and watched what we have shot outside on these fancy pc's. I'm really excited about this class and i'm looking forward for it... to be continued...
